Angel Food Cake

Best angel food cake ever is the one you make from scratch. It isn't hard and the flavor doesn't compare.

This recipe came from my mom.

Angel Food Cake
1 cup cake flour
1 1/4 cup powdered sugar
12 egg whites
1 1/2 tsp cream of tarter
1/4 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp almond extract
1 cup sugar

Preheat oven to 375. Sift flour and powdered sugar together 3 times.

Beat egg whites, cream of tarter, salt, vanilla, and almond to soft peaks (still moist and glossy)

Beat in sugar 2 Tbsp. at a time, and continue beating til stiff peaks.

Sift 1/4 cup of flour mixture in at a time and fold to combine.  do not mix, fold. continue till entire flour mixture is combined

Pour into an ungreased angel food cake pan. and Bake for 30 minutes or til is better to over bake than underback.

Put on a bottle upside down to cool.
